Planar Displays Manufacturer Showcase

It is strange to think only 50 years ago the mere thought of computers, cell phones, and flat screen televisions being household commodities was considered something out of Science Fiction. Now, names like Sony, Google, and Amazon are among the most common in the technological world, breaching the frontier of electronic components. Their achievements have been fawned over time and again. However, success by these companies would not be possible if it were not for the companies which allow you to see their products clearly.

Planar Displays

Over the last 30 years, a company founded and built right here in the United States has been working in the foreground, creating display screens for everything from touch screen computers to large, electronic billboard displays you see in large cities like New York and Las Vegas to the cell phone in your pocket. Without Planar and their many tried and proven products, technology as a whole would not have the presence it has in our lives today.

What is Planar Displays?

Planar was founded in 1983 as a spin off from a company called Tektronix (the company responsible for the oscilloscope) with one purpose: to give people the ability to see. Founded in Oregon, the company’s focus on projection technology began in 1986. Purchasing competitor’s plants beginning as early as 1997, Planar quickly made a name for themselves as a fast growing and motivated company driven to the future with their eyes on the prize… and the screen.

From touch screens on home computers to large format LCD displays to be used in your business, the main focus of Planar is to give you the best quality for whatever you may be viewing. Advertisements on Time Square, data in your quarterly evaluation spreadsheets, movies at home and in the theater, even your applications on your phone displaying the score from yesterday’s game or the most updated Tweets are all made clearer thanks to the years of experience harnessing the power of display. No one does it better.

What does Planar do?

Planar was the first manufacturer in the United States who produced electro-luminescent (EL) digital displays. This form of flat panel technology is used in the instrumentation of military, transportation and industrial applications. With the most experience and expertise in the field, Planar Solutions beats all others, making them the leading company when it comes to EL digital displays and their production.

While they are at the forefront of their field, they have a thorough understanding of the ways of newly developed components after over three decades of production. Planar knows new technology can have bugs which need worked through properly. By allowing time for their products to become as close to perfect as possible before release, Planar has been given a very high standing reputation of quality and reliability. This prominence within their field makes them, hands down, the go to for display needs.

Which Solutions does Planar Offer?

Video Walls: Planar’s LED, LCD, and LED-illuminated rear projection video wall solutions are designed to deliver the best in digital signage and architectural applications.

4K LCD Displays: With 400% the resolution as standard HD, Planar displays deliver realistic picture quality for a life-like display experience. This sharp, clean detail can be seen even from viewing distances.

Touch Displays/Desktop Touch Screen Monitors: Planar touch screen monitors are durable and dependable and have what it takes to perform POS, POP, Healthcare, Corporate, and Desktop applications.

Transparent Displays: Revolutionary. This display allows users to view what is shown on a glass video screen while being able to see through it. Welcome to the future!

Where to look for Planar Displays

Everywhere. Every City. Every Country. Planar is literally everywhere. Their displays can be seen all over the world. Have you ever stepped foot in an airport? Gone into a hospital? Used an ATM machine? Looked at a screen on the gas pump? Used a GPS system in a car with a display screen? Searched for a new television, cellphone, or tablet at your local electronics store? From China to Chicago, Australia to Alaska, Planar has a strong global presence in the display market. Chances are you have seen a product of Planar and you did not even know it.

When the idea came to them to create this company, Jim Hurd, Chris King, John Laney and their team in Beaverton, Oregon had no idea the impact they would have on the way the world views… well… the world. We see our family through apps like Facetime and Skype. We see our dream vacations on television shows and on travel websites. We see advertisements flashing high in the sky for the newest flavors at Baskin Robins. We can touch and navigate screens with the swipe of a finger instead of the click of a mouse. We see things clearly, with bright pictures and colors with honest hues, thanks to Planar and their constant push toward fulfilling their mission to allow people to do one simple thing: To See.

Don’t forget about summer training classes through CCS

The main focus of providing audio visual training, especially over the summer, is to allow educators the time they simply do not have during the year to relax, have fun, and learn about the technologies they currently have in the classroom that they would like to know more about, use more efficiently or apply more directly to unique learning applications.

All of our trainings are very much hands-on and collaborative (teachers working together), and all participants will all walk-away with content they can use when they return to school in the fall.

InFocus Video Phone is a Competitive Solution

Today’s marketplace is more competitive than ever. To keep the edge, there is incredible pressure on businesses to cut costs, build more personal relationships with clients, and get more from employees. InFocus recognizes this and works everyday to bring innovative solutions to businesses. One of those solutions is the MVP100 (My Video Phone), a video calling device.

The InFocus MVP100 video phone is easy to use and works just like a standard telephone. With a simple push of a button, the MVP dials and starts the video call automatically. And, while businesses are looking to cut expenses, in areas like travel, the MVP100 provides an alternative opportunity to communicate and collaborate face to face. Further, it quickly pays for itself on the savings from travel and increased productivity, so it’s affordable for mass deployment.

The MVP100 is a dedicated video calling device so it delivers reliable, smooth performance. And, while using the phone, you still have access to your computer. This allows you to be free from unnecessary distractions and work efficiently. The phone can sit on a desk top, in a remote home office, and is even small enough to travel with you when business takes you on the road.

The MVP100 has an easily adjustable 10″ color display and 720p HD camera making it very comfortable for visual communication. The built-in wide-band speaker and high dynamic range microphone ensure clear conversations. And the display is built with auto brightness and white balance controls. New Sony Projectors to Create a New Reality

Sony revolutionized video display with the introduction of the world’s first CRT projector, the world’s first commercial 4K projector with 4096 x 2160 resolution, the world’s first 3LCD laser projector, and the world’s first 4K ultra-short throw laser light source projector. Sony delivers breakthrough after breakthrough because they don’t just build projectors, they build the technology inside that delivers extraordinary contrast, uniformity, color accuracy and phenomenal resolution. All this has earned Sony the largest installed base of professional 4K projectors, worldwide.

Now in 2016, Sony will introduce two new revolutionary projectors that will expand the immersive reality viewing experience. The Sony VPL-GTZ270 and VPL-GTZ280 are 5,000 lumen large-format models that utilize the latest SXRD display technology to create high quality images with 4K resolution and super-high contrast ratio. But most notable is the new image enhancement functions including “Reality Creation” upscaling and compatibility with High Dynamic Range (HDR) content, giving users the ability to view the entire range of an image accurately and clearly for a more convincing picture. A wide color space covers the full DCI range and simulates the new ITU-R BT2020 color gamut for the most realistic picture.

Additionally, the VPL-GTZ280 offers high-speed motion functions and new high-speed 4K 120Hz signal processing capability for 4K3D 60Hz left eye/right eye and reducing blur in fast motion scenes. This is in addition to smear and transport delay reduction, infrared light output for night vision stimulation and vibration resistance.

These two projectors will soon be immersing audiences in exciting reality viewing experiences in planetariums, theme parks, retail facilities, museums and in flight simulation, visualization and training establishments. The VPL- GTZ270 and VPL- GTZ280 will be released in the 1st Quarter 2016 and 2nd Quarter 2016 respectively.

Teach with the InFocus Mondopad

The InFocus Mondopad is a digital whiteboard system that revolutionizes the way teachers access and deliver content to their students. Mondopad makes it easy for teachers to display documents, pictures or lessons on the board and annotate or highlight key features directly from the touch screen. Teachers may supplement their curriculum material with dynamic and engaging content from internet websites such as Wikipedia, YouTube, or other educational sites. The ability to stream live or current news events is a great way for students to connect with the world outside the classroom. Using the video conferencing feature, teachers can remotely invite guest speakers into the classroom and go on field trips, while saving schools money and student’s time away from the classroom. The possibilities of the Mondopad are limitless when it comes to enhancing the learning experience of students.

In today’s modern classroom, the Mondopad has truly become a centerpiece. It features a bright, colorful 1080p touchscreen that comes in three screen sizes (57, 70 or 80 inches) to suit your classroom needs. The hardware used makes it easy to share, view and control content on the screen itself or from a notebook, tablet or smartphone. USB ports allow for seamless integration of other technology like document cameras, voting systems and teaching slates without delay or interruption to the instruction. One system can do it all.
